A visit from a general superintendent

The official entourage with Dr. Jessee Middendorf. Bonnie and I are busy taking pictures with their cameras. We did get in the official picture that was taken. Vern and Natalie Ward are sitting with the Middendorfs, Vern is the regional director. Our only remaining missionaries in Korea are Bill and Gail Patch, standing behind the Middendorfs. They have been here over 35 years and are retiring this summer. The departure is really painful for them since they leave so much of their lives behind here. The above pictures show Dr. Middendorf preaching with Dr. Im interpreting, and a crowd shot in the Anjung Church. This church has a great history of missions. Many churches have been planted from this one. If I have the story correct when they celebrated recently their 60th anniversary they rasied nearly $100,000.00 for mission work. This church is an example of giving to others. It is not just American churches that do mission work, all of our churches throughout the world get invovled.

Dr. Middondorf came to KNU for the South Korea district assembly. I am seen sitting with Dr. Im, president of KNU, and Dr. Middendorf. We are in the largest church in South Korea about one hour from KNU. Bonnie and I felt very honored to be one of the few invited to the Sunday service. We went with John and Linda Bondy and met up with the official entourage in a picture shown above. Since the church put on a feast for the special guests following the morning worship service, our number had to be limited. Upon our arrival we were escorted to the pastor's study and waited for others to arrive. We were treated with coffee, tea, and fresh fruit. Following our feast we were escorted back into the pastor's study for more fresh fruit, coffee and tea. They really know how to treat you well here.
