These are a few pictures of the revival at YeDalm. Wednesday night was nearly full. Many students came. The music is upbeat. The piano player and the other woman singer have been to America last year and stayed with my brother a couple of days in Springfield, Mo. We love the music here, even though it is in Korean. The people listened very well. Each service many came forward for prayer. There is no altar in the church so the people come forward and kneel on the floor. The ministers present lay hands on them and pray for them. It was a great week for me. The pastor and her husband took Bonnie and me out for a lovely dinner every night, mostly western style food. It was the first revival campaign the church has ever had in its 7-year history. The pastor told me that the church would remember me for a long, long time since I held the first revival. I believe God helped all of us have very warm hearts this week. If you are interested I preached 3 sermons on holiness: l. The foundation for holiness--God's love toward us; 2. The Journey to Holiness--Coming back to the Father (Prodigal Son story); 3. The expression of holiness--the 2 greatest commandments, loving God and loving our neighbor.... The challenge here is to keep it simple for good interpretation. My translator did very well and stayed with me. I did not have to use a manuscript which gave me much freedom. It was an honor to be asked to do this. I gulped hard when he asked me to preach an hour! I never do that. I only preached about 40-45 minutes which I felt was long enough, especially with translation. We had Korean students, Chinese students and adults, a Vietnam student, and students from Malaysia and the Philippines (an international audience), and some American professors. It was the first week of classes, but the students still came. The services began at 7 and we dismissed just before 9 every night. The church was very kind to me and gave me a gift on the last night, a beautiful dress shirt and tie. I will cherish the gift for a long time to come. Getting emails from students who said they received much help was a great blessings to me. I am truly blessed to be able to do this kind of thing in this part of the world!
