Mid term blog

My blogs seem to be further apart than they were last year. Perhaps that suggests that Korea is now becoming more and more routine in many ways. We have now traveled to many places and seen much. This is not to say that nothing is interesting anymore, the place just does not have the newness and thrill of excitement it once had. Time has a way of dulling the senses.
It is hard to believe we are in the middle of our fourth semester! I am driving now. I was graciously offered the keys to one of the cars our missionaries used to drive around. They went home and the car remains here. I drove the English church pastor and a few to a retreat Saturday here in Cheonan. I spoke and then left. My main concern was getting back without getting lost since I returned without them. No problem. I was very relieved to see the street the university is on! Dorothy is so right, "there in no place like home!"
Our church moved its location this week. Since they rent the owners can refuse to renew a lease and sell out. That is what happened. They had about 1 month to find a new place. It was an expensive move since they had to refurbish what once was a restaurant. They are located very near the university and today was our first Sunday. Bonnie and I were responsible for the meal today so we had simple egg salad sandwiches with chips. Everyone seemed to enjoy it and many thought we were smart having such a simple meal on paper plates for the first Sunday--no clean up or cooking! Next week we will have a "dedication" service.
Tonight will be our first freeze. The wind is blowing and sharp giving hints of the winter to come. Saturday afternoon we went to the Independence Hall Memorial and took many fall pictures. The wind blew and rain started falling just as we left the park. Fall has been beautiful and warm.
My Bible study chapels are going well. The English comprehension for the Koreans is tough at times but the subject is good. Some students are now coming to me to talk about personal issues or Christianity. I am amazed how little some know about the Bible and Christianity. It is difficult to know where to begin sometimes. But building a relationship with the students is great. They are so respectful to me and treat me with the best of kindness.
Bonnie's music history and diction classes are very challenging for her. She is hanging in there and enjoying her students as well. Time will fly now and the end is near for this semester--and for our contract. Decision time! More later.
