China bound

In a few hours I fly to China which is a very short flight from here, about 1 hour.  A few years ago I would have never of thought of doing this.  There are always many uncertainties about flying to a strange country you have never visited before.  I do find myself wanting all my ducks in a row, and a few pigeons too!  I do have students waiting for me and that helps.  I would not want to take the trip without them helping me.  These students are some of my Chinese students I have had Bible studies with for 2 years now.  They seem excited I am coming to visit their hometowns and even cook mash potatoes for one of them.  The great wall is on the agenda, but it will be cold.  I do hope to see it.  I am taking one of the students to BeiJing.  She has never seen her capital city.  I hope it will be quite a treat for her.  She will be my guide in the Chinese culture and language.  I will blog more when I return but for now the excitement is building.  I wish I could leave tonight, but 4:30 a.m. will come soon enough to rise and run out the door to catch a taxi to the bus station that will take me to Incheon.  In the meantime I go visit friends who have graciously invited me for a last meal, I mean supper. Chow!  Or whatever.  Til we meet again on the blog.  Ron
